What is Pony Club?

Pony Club is an organization of dedicated volunteers begun in1929 as a junior branch of institute of the Horse in England.  It expanded to all parts of the world and the United States Pony Club (USPC) began in 1953-54.   The Boise Pony Club was chartered as a member of USPC in 1984.

The name Pony Club refers to the age of the members, under 25 years, and not the size of the mounts.  Pony  Club welcomes young riders at all riding levels and provides instruction in the English style of riding, as well as horse management.  If you would like more information about Boise Pony Club or are interested in joining go to Join Pony Club.

Our Pony Club Mission

The mission of Boise Pony Club is to provide instruction in riding and horsemanship in a safe and fun environment, to promote good sportsmanship and help each participant develop into a well-rounded self-disciplined citizen.  Also, to support the United States Pony Club (USPC) concept of a "happy rider on a happy horse" and to enable every member who wants to compete on a rally team (when age appropriate) to do so.
